In my first term on Tampa City Council I’ve worked hard to fulfill my pledge to be a dedicated public servant willing to “Stand Up” for the people vs. the special interests, and help make Tampa a city that works for all its citizens.
A City That Works for Our Families and Neighborhoods
As a neighbor, wife and mother, I’ve stood up for our families, schools and neighborhoods, working hard to protect our children, our quality of life, and the value and security of our homes. As a strong strong voice for those who would not otherwise have one, I’ve stood up for families who count on having affordable access to our public transportation, city services, parks and recreational programs.
Working to Make City Government More Efficient and Accountable
As a fiscal conservative and budget watchdog, I’ve stood up for taxpayers by creating the Citizen’s Budget Advisory Committee, working hard to do more with less, identify millions of dollars in savings, reduce spending, and utilize more transparent, efficient and sustainable business practices.
Working to Build a Stronger Economy
As a leader on economic development issues, I’ve worked hard to create new opportunities for our business community, expanding the vision for our port, our airport, and our public transportation systems so that Tampa can compete globally and attract new businesses and the higher-paying jobs that will help secure our prosperity.
A City That Works for Local Businesses
As champion of local businesses, I’ve stood up to the City bureaucracy, working hard to make our permitting, zoning, and land use processes more streamlined and user-friendly, and implemented the green and sustainable business models that will help diversify and energize our economy for the brighter future I know is possible.
Working to Earn Your Trust
As your representative, you can count on me to always listen, do my homework, ask the tough questions and seek solutions that deliver results for our community – with absolute integrity.
Work With Me!
I hope I can count on you to support my campaign with a generous contribution, and please vote for a city that works on March 1, 2011. Thank you, Tampa!
